site - with chat rooms, news and the like - and includes content from
the encyclopedia; it is not sponsored by Microsoft.

scholars of African and African-American history. It has a great directory
of links, and the breadth of their coverage is really great. You can
browse by subject and find anything from the history of the W.P.A.
to voodoo to Charlie Parker to great sports figures."

University of Buffalo,
this site includes profiles of notable contemporary black mathematicians,
as well as a historical look at mathematics in Africa.

Group: Black History
This selection of about 80 short biographies for children is on the
Web site of the Gale Group reference publishing company. The
subjects include contemporary celebrities like Veronica Webb
and Lauren Hill, as well as historic subjects like Frederick
Douglass; offbeat figures like the science fiction writer Samuel
R. Delaney; and people in the news like Louis Farrakhan.
The
site also has a link to a timeline of black history, a quiz and links
to 12 other black history and culture sites.
