Recommendations Santa Barbara Biltmore
Hotel Santa Barbara Municipal Airport: 20 minutes More information, click here While we were staying here, the Santa Barbara Press had on the front page that Montecito resident Ty Warner, founder and owner of the Bean Babies, had purchased the hotel and adjacent exclusive club overlooking the ocean. Actually the hotel is located in the City of Montecito, right next to Santa Barbara. There are great restaurants and ships in this small town and wonderful shopping in Santa Barbara itself. The service at the Biltmore was outstanding, in every department. A great bar to sit outside, and High Tea in the afternoon. The price fixe dinner with wine was outstanding at dinner. This was a San Francisco restaurant chef and meal. The Fess Parker Doubletree and Radisson downtown are very nice, as are many of the places to stay in the area. The Biltmore is the old style, regal, picturesque, romantic, very high quality ( the Commanderie de Bordeaux were having a dinner one of the nights and I peaked in as I thought it was a La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs* dinner as everyone was wearing medals, extremely well dressed and the food and wine was the best you could every enjoy ( I saw a 1990 Lynch Bages being served with Rack of Lamb as one of the course ). · I am Honaire des Press for the Santa Clara Valley Chapter |
